We attempt to provide a church community where as many people as possible can contribute to its life and health, where there are learning opportunities for young and old, which contributes to the general life of the local community, and where there is a fellowship and social life that helps to build up our common life together.

Activities

MUMS and TODDLERS: This group meets at St Mary's every Thursday morning for a short service, followed by the opportunity to share together socially. We welcome parents, grandparents and carers of very young children, including even those who aren’t quite toddling.
This is a friendly and supportive group that provides time and a place for everyone who is looking after a small person.

SEEKERS: This activity is for young children – aged three to about nine. It meets during the Parish Eucharist, and joins with the rest of the community for part of the service.
Sunday School aims to inform children about the Christian faith and to think for themselves. The Sunday School group plays a major part in the Eucharist on every third Sunday of the month.

Outreach RAINBOWS, BROWNIES & GUIDES:  St Mary's Church organises groups of
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. It provides opportunities for girls and young women to be challenged by new adventures; develop personal faith and values; make friends and have fun; develop a sense of tolerance and justice; learn teamwork and leadership; appreciate the environment; learn about the world, its people and cultures.

QUEST: Quest is a lively group of young people aged 10-15+ who meet on Sunday mornings to explore the Christian faith in ways relevant to
their own life experience.  Quest has three adult leaders; the team is occasionally supplemented by talented members of the church who assist with special art projects. We meet at 10am, and join the church service later on.
FAITH & IMAGE is a forum for all who have an interest in art as a medium of spiritual expression.  The group seeks to gain insight and understanding from all art forms, all traditions and cultures.  FAIM offers a monthly programme of illustrated talks and discussions. Speakers include a wide range of artists, architects, craft workers, art and design historians.  Click here for the current programme...

WOODFORD WIVES: We are a group of women (not necessarily married) from the Church and outside who meet twice a month.  We meet on the second Wednesday evening of every month at 8pm for a talk; a trip out for a meal; a meal in the hall or an evening to raise money for charity.  There is also a regular coffee morning.
