Chelmsford Diocese has had Partnership Links with the four Dioceses of Kirinyaga, Embu, Mbeere and Meru in Kenya (Mount Kenya region) since 1978. St Mary’s has had a direct partnership with the Church of the Good Shepherd, Muchunguri, in the Diocese of Mbeere for over five years.

In October 2006 members of St Mary's witnessed the consecration of the new church building, after twenty years of building. We made many new friends and were deeply impressed by the vitality of the worship and the speed with which the church is growing.
We recently helped celebrate the opening of the new dispensary which will bring medical services close to the local community. Most of the parishioners are subsistence farmers in a semi-arid area, and have had to walk five miles to the nearest dispensary. There is still much work to do to develop and maintain a working dispensary.
For a number of years we have been supporting an orphanage caring for boys who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS and who have been living on the streets. We have helped improve their living areas and bedrooms, and are delighted to see that the children are now able to go to school.
