The Memorial Hall, was donated by Sir John Roberts in 1902 in memory of his brother, Thomas, to serve the community and Parish of Woodford and St Mary's Church.
On land behind the Hall once stood Woodford Hall, where William Morris spent some of his childhood years; there is a plaque commemorating this on the front of the building.

After a disastrous fire that destroyed St Mary's Church in 1969, services were held in the Hall untilthe Church was rebuilt in 1972. The Hall has also provided temporary court fcilities. Today it has been refurbished and modernised and continues to provide a wide range of facilities for local people and organisations.
